Women Unite!
I made this around the time of the 1,000,000 Women’s March in Washington after the 2016 US election. This symbol from the women’s movement in the 1970s has a lot of history for me as my mother was a very active feminist during that time. As an 11-yr-old, I did not appreciate it, nor my mother’s activism. But as time has passed and I’ve lived my life as a women, and as feminism is still a necessary force in the world, this feminist symbol has come to mean quite a lot to me. I thought it was time it was resurrected.
