The Music Room

Sarah Habibi from Criterion hired me to do this cover for Satyajit Ray’s “The Music Room” (1958). She sent me the film (which I really enjoyed), and in it there was a chandelier which seemed to represent what we might call “old India” and the ways of the central character.

So I made a simple pattern based on chandelier crystals which I could use to make the image of the chandelier and the type. Printed in black and silver.
